Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Sarah Cullum received her bachelor’s degree in English and Sociology, cum laude, from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2015, and her J.D. from the Tulane Law School in 2018. While at Tulane Law, Sarah held the position of Senior Articles Editor for the Journal of Law & Sexuality and served as a Student Attorney for the Juvenile Litigation Clinic, representing children as young as 11 charged with various offenses. Sarah also participated in two law summer abroad programs, one at Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany studying Mediation, Arbitration, and Dispute Resolution and the other at the University of Cambridge, Trinity College in the United Kingdom studying Immigration Law. Further, her Case Note, “Brooke S.B. v. Elizabeth A. C.C.: A Long-Overdue Victory for Estranged Same Sex Parents in New York’s Highest Court” was published in the Tulane Journal of Law and Sexuality and her Article, “Attorney Sexual Misconduct: The ABA Update of Model Rule 8.4 and the Creation of Model Rule 1.8” was published by her Professor, Alan Childress, in the 2017 edition of his book series, Hot Topics in the Legal Profession.
After graduating with her J.D., Sarah received a Trial Advocacy Fellowship from the American University Washington College of Law, where she then graduated with her LL.M. in Advocacy in 2019. During her LL.M. program at American, Sarah also clerked for the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, assisting in the representation of defendants charged with major felonies.
After the bar, Sarah began her career as a plaintiff’s personal injury attorney, working for several firms in the DMV, litigating various negligence claims. She also worked as a workers’ compensation defense attorney, defending claims in both the Workers’ Compensation Commission in Maryland, as well as the Office of Workers’ Compensation and Administrative Hearings Division in DC.
Sarah is passionate about the law and is committed to zealously advocating for clients. She currently resides in Baltimore with her dog, Alibi. She collects vinyl records in her spare time.
