Jessica R. Choate graduated Magna Cum Laude (top 10%) from George Mason University Law School in 2022.
In 2022, Jessica received Virginia State Bar’s Oliver White Hill Award for her commitment to pro bono work for her pro bono work and for raising over $19,000 for pro bono legal work during her time in law school.
Jessica clerked for Judge Christie A. Leary from 2022-2023 at Fairfax County Circuit Court. After her clerkship, Jessica has appeared in state and federal courts in VA and DC, argued and won numerous dispositive motions, won two general district court trial, successfully defended mediations, and resolved dozens of cases for corporate and individual clients.
At Portner and Shure, Jessica is passionately and strategically representing worker’s compensation claimants and criminal defendants in court and through informal and formal mediations.
