Stomach Paralysis Caused by Rybelsus
Only a few years after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Rybelsus as the first prescribed oral GLP-1 receptor agonist medication for type 2 diabetes regulation, questions about the drug’s safety began to surface. Common side effects of Rybelsus were reported as blood sugar fluctuations, bloating, nausea, frequent vomiting, constipation, and diarrhea. However, many users have suffered from gastrointestinal complications like gastroparesis or stomach paralysis, which were not reported by Novo Nordisk in its list of possible side effects.
Gastroparesis causes the stomach muscles to become paralyzed or ineffective, which results in a drastically slower digestion process than normal.
