Emily Milakovic earned her Juris Doctor from William & Mary Law School with a concentration in public interest law. She additionally holds a B.A. from The George Washington University in Journalism and Mass Communication with a minor in Spanish.
Emily clerked in the Domestic Relations Division of the D.C. Superior Court from 2022-2023. Prior to joining Portner & Shure, Emily worked at the U.S. Department of Labor from 2024-2026 in the Office of Administrative Law Judges. At the Dept. of Labor, Emily worked on cases across the federal labor landscape, particularly cases arising under the Black Lung Benefits Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act, whistleblower protection statutes, and temporary immigration labor certification appeals.
At Portner & Shure, Emily passionately represents workers' compensation claimants and criminal defendants in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
