Simran Rahi
Senior Associate AttorneySimran Rahi is an experienced trial attorney and senior associate attorney with Portner & Shure, P.A. He currently heads the Law Firm’s Litigation Department. He represents clients in matters of personal injury – including, motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice – and criminal defense throughout the state and federal courts in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. He is barred in all three jurisdictions. Mr. Rahi has tried numerous civil jury trials and over 100 bench trials to verdict.
In 2020, Mr. Rahi resolved a wrongful death case in Northern Virginia for 2.1 million dollars, a wrongful death case in Washington County for $750,000 and a serious auto accident involving a minor in Newport News Virginia for $969,324. Each of these settlements were amongst the largest in their respective jurisdictions for the entire year. Mr. Rahi is a member of both the Million Dollar and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forums. In addition, in 2020, he was recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star and in The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Rahi worked as a trial attorney at one of the nation’s largest automobile insurance companies, GEICO, as well as at a regional boutique defense law firm, where he defended bodily injury lawsuits from settlement through trial. Most recently, he worked at one of the top 250 largest law firms in the United States. Mr. Rahi uses his insurance and defense expertise and background to the benefit of the injured clients here at Portner & Shure, whether it’s through obtaining a strong settlement or through a verdict in the trial process. Mr. Rahi is a D.C. metropolitan native. He received his bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from George Mason University, and his law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law where he was Legislative Editor on the Journal of Energy, Climate and the Environment.
