This is the highest distinction offered by the BBB and is based on compliance with BBB standards. The BBB bases its ratings on a number of rigorous standards. Businesses are rated based on the type and size of the business, how long they have been in business, their history of client/customer complaints, and the transparency and validity of their practices. When providing ratings for a particular business, the BBB also looks at the business’s history of honoring commitments to the BBB (including any issues involving mediation and/or arbitration), and whether there are any advertising issues or licensing or government actions involving the business. In order to receive an A+ rating, a business must score at least 97 out of 100 across all areas.
