Immigration Attorney
Portner & Shure is a well respected law firm with offices in Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia.
Our ideal candidate would be someone who is Virginia or Maryland barred, speaks Spanish, and has experience in the following areas of immigration law: family petitions, asylum, individual hearings, SIJS hearings, U-Visas, waivers (including I-601A, I-601, I-212), cancellation of removal, and deportation. Experience in the following is preferred, but not required: O Visas, H1B, employment petitions, eligibility under § 245(i), and PERM. Please note the experience does not have to have been gained as an attorney.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct new client meetings
- Coordinate case and legal strategies
- Manage various projects and deadlines
- Ability to train and supervise administrative staff and paralegals
- Prepare, and revise documents
- Research unique legal issues by identifying applicable statutes and judicial decisions
- Develop solutions to complex legal questions
- Attend master calendar hearings, bond hearings, and individual/merits hearings
Requirements:
- J.D. degree in Maryland or Virginia
- Active Bar license (in a good standing)
- At least one year of experience in immigration law
- Fluent in Spanish
Benefits:
The total compensation for this immigration attorney position ranges from 65,000 to $85,000. We offer an excellent benefits package, to include:
