Renee Abbott Blocker is an experienced trial attorney and associate with Portner & Shure. She represents clients in matters of personal injury and criminal defense-including, motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, worker’s compensation, and juvenile criminal defense throughout the state and federal courts in Maryland and District of Columbia.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Blocker worked in various plaintiff’s medical malpractice firms in the District of Columbia, and as an Intern with the United States Counsel’s Office focusing in electronic discovery. Ms. Blocker as also served in the Prince George’s County Public Defender’s Office, representing juvenile defendants in misdemeanor and felony cases. Most recently, Ms. Blocker worked as a trial attorney in the field of personal injury in a regional boutique defense law firm, where she defended bodily injury lawsuits from settlement through trial.
Ms. Blocker is a native of Virginia. She received her bachelor’s degree with honors from University of California at Davis, and her law degree from Catholic University Columbus School of Law, where she served as a member of the National Moot Court Trial Team, President of Alternative Dispute Resolution Society, and member of the Communications Law Journal. Ms. Blocker has won recognition for her client counseling skills, and negotiation.
