Loudoun County Jury Gives Pot Dealer 9 Year Prison Term

A Sterling, Virginia man and woman were arrested in December 2012 as a result of a drug sting operation.Undercover police officers went to Jennifer Lynn Murphy’s home and purchased more than 11 ounces of marijuana from Murphy and Casey Andrew MacDonald.Recently, in September, MacDonald pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute marijuana and was sentenced just a few days ago to one year and eight months in prison. The trial in Murphy’s case just concluded with a jury finding her guilty of distribution of marijuana and recommending a nine-year prison sentence. The Loudoun County Circuit Court Judge will sentence Murphy in March.Drug trafficking continues to be a major problem in Loudoun County and the jury’s verdict shows that the community strongly disfavors drug dealers in their county.
