- Dear Mr.Ruby, Mr. Shure, Mrs. Horseman and Mrs. Linton:

I was involved in a car accident. Mr. Shure came to my home and provided assistance the day after the accident. Then, your paralegals, Sandy and Dawn assisted me on each steps and kept me updated. Mr. Ruby answered my questions and phone calls. He tried and settled my case successfully.
Your team professional services is the key in the success of my case.

I got into a really bad car accident and had no clue what to do. Luckily I called Portner & Shure. Thanks to them I did not have to experience the stress of talking to the insurance company's, or the hassle of gathering additional information about my case. Portner & Shure did it all. They handled all of my medical bills, and even provided a convenient chiropractor that was amazing and made me feel like myself again. They also offered a settlement that I was very pleased with. The staff were friendly and respectful. My questions were answered promptly and in great detail. I felt like I was in good hands throughout the entire process
Portner & Shure is top notch. They exceeded my expectations. I recommend this law firm to anyone who refuse to settle for less.. Thanks again Portner & Shure for making this tragic experience a stress-free process and providing a satisfying result.

Fairfax County
Fairfax County dates back to 1742, and has been the home of numerous historical figures. Most notably, George Washington settled in the County and built his home at Mount Vernon. Over the years, Fairfax has ceded some of its lands to form Arlington County, Loudoun County, Alexandria City, and Falls Church City. Located near Washington, D.C., Fairfax was an important region during the civil war. Numerous battles were fought in the County. In fact, cannons from the Battle of Bull Run can still be seen on the Fairfax County Court’s property.
Fairfax County as a population of well over One Million, which makes it the most populous jurisdiction in the Commonwealth of Virginia, as well as the entire Washington Metropolitan Area. In fact, over 14% of Virginia’s population is located in Fairfax County. In addition to having the incorporated cities of Falls Church, and Alexandria, Fairfax County has numerous unincorporated regions such Annandale, Burke, Centreville, Chantilly, McLean, Oakton, Reston, Springfield, and Tysons Corner. Fairfax County was once considered as a mainly Republican area, however, in the last decade Democrats have begun to gain in representation, and now have gained control of the Board of Supervisors, the School Board, the Sheriff, and Commonwealth Attorney.
The Fairfax court system is separated into two divisions; General District and Circuit Courts. The General District Court can consider cases up to $15,000. These cases are decided by a judge and can be completed in less than four months from the initial filing date. In larger cases, the Circuit Court is the proper venue. These cases take up to one year to complete and are generally heard before a jury. Because of the amount of wealth and education of the Fairfax population, the juries have been considered conservative in personal injury cases. This generalization is not always accurate, however, and is dependent on the type and severity of the accident and the resulting injuries. While juries are typically conservative when it comes to smaller accidents with only physical therapy or chiropractic care they can also be extremely generous in cases where there has been a significant accident and an objective injury.
Our office tries cases in both the Fairfax General District and Circuit Courts on a regular basis. We are familiar with the defense attorneys that work for the insurance companies, as well as the tendencies of the judges. Before we file a case, we do an analysis as to what is the best court to file in for each individual case. If you were involved in an automobile accident, motorcycle accident, truck accident, and/or bus accident, you should obtain legal representation.
